Report of the Metro Youth Committee
Metro Association Fall Meeting - November 21, 2009

The Metro Youth Committee organized a youth event that was held at the Riverside Church on Saturday, May 30th from 10 AM until 2:20 PM . The theme for the event was "Dare to Care." We were blessed to have 123 adults and youth for the event.

We began the day with a light breakfast followed by committee introductions. The youth enjoyed a Bible study led by Rev. Hill.

There was a presentation of a mission project led by Rev. Peter Dennebaum, Associate Minister for Youth at Chappaqua.

After lunch, there was a spirit-filled worship service led by Rev. Lisa Robinson, Pastor of Church of the Evangel. The music was provided by Rev. Benjamin Samuel's Praise Band, and a Liturgical Dance by Ms. Calvina Johnson.

It is important to reach out to the youth of our churches to involve them in the works of the Holy Spirit, and to help them realize how much God loves them.

The committee was thrilled and encouraged by the attendance and participation of our teens at our first youth event. We are looking forward to planning an event in the Spring of 2010. We are hoping that other churches in the Association will encourage their youth to attend and participate. At a future meeting of the Association, we hope to present a program featuring the youth.

I am thankful to be working with Rev. Peter Dennebaum, of Chappaqua and Ms. Kimberly Everett, first lady of Ridgeview Congregational Church.

I thank Rev. Lisa Robinson for leading an outstanding worship service, and I am grateful to the Riverside Church for extending their hospitality in hosting this event.

The cost for the event was $1203.88, broken down as follows:

Food from Sam's Club $335.90
Lunch from Quinoas $474.12
Kinko's $172.50
Oriental Trading $124.90
Miscellaneous $96.46
