Suffolk Association


Churches in Suffolk County covenant to serve one another in the Suffolk Association of the New York Conference of the United Church of Christ. The Suffolk Association and the Metropolitan Association compose the Southeast Region of the New York Conference.

Our Registrar is Ann Van Cleef - pastorannsutton@yahoo.com.

Among those serving us through the New York Conference are:

Interim Conference Minister Rita M. Root - RitaRoot@uccny.org.

Has oversight of conference programs, administrative oversight including head of staff, ecumenical work, search & call, connection to national setting.

She is assisted by Conference Ministry Associates in each region.  The Associate for the Southeast Region is Jan Powell - PilgrimJan@earthlink.net.

Associate Conference Minister for Congregational Development – Freeman Palmer - FreemanPalmer@uccny.org.

Develops and staffs programs related to congregational vitality.

Associate Conference Minister for Leadership Development – Marian Shearer - shearerm@uccny.org.

Develops and staff programs related to authorized ministers and laity leadership development.
