Report from the UCC Metro Women's Association
To the April 21, 2007 Annual Meeting of the Metro Association

The UCC Metro Women have participated in the Pennies for People project of the UCC NY Women by sponsoring the Women for Women of Sierra Leone (WWSL). The Pennies for People awarded $1000 to WWSL during the UCC NY Women's Conference May 4-6, 2006 . This year, the Nassau County Coalition Against Domestic Violence was nominated to be the recipient of the Pennies for People Award.

Planning for the Fall Retreat is underway with its theme, "Each One A Minister - Using God's Gift to Ministry." Whole day retreats are one of the ways the organization gathers the women of Metro Association for workshops, meaningful worship services, spiritual nourishment and fellowship. It provides support to women's group in the local churches in the development of their own women's activities.

Last March our treasurer, Sadie Hinton, passed way. The nominating committee will seek a candidate for this vacancy before the Fall Retreat.
