Scholarship Committee

South Congregational Fund, 2003

The members of the committee are: Romeo Dagdayan, Sam Phillips, Rev. Henry Veal, Althea White and Louise Liverpool (Chairperson).

Phoebe Le Sesne informed the committee that the interest earned so far was $18,117.00. This was combined with $2,467.52 from last year totaling $20,584.52.

There were 13 applications received this year - one applicant was rejected because he is a post-graduate student. The committee met, reviewed all the applications thoroughly, and after prayerful deliberations, the following disbursements were made.

1. Ruth Auguste of Church Of Lord , Brooklyn , attending Kingsboro Community College, CUNY receives $1,800.00.
2. Orville Bennett of Union Congregational Church, attending The University Of Hartford , Connecticut receives $1,800.00.
3. Renauld Clarke of Union Congregational Church, attending Vanderbilt University, Nashville receives $1,800.00.
4. Maisha Gillman of Union Congregational Church, attending Pratt Institute, Brooklyn receives $1,500.00.
5. Alice Lourissa Harris of St. Albans Congregational Church, attending Howard University, Washington , DC receives $1,800.00.
6. Hayes O. Humphreys of Plymouth Church Of The Pilgrims, Brooklyn , attending Claremont McKenna College , Claremont , California receives $1,800.00
7. Sheena F. Lall of the Victoria congregational Church, Queens attending Binghamton , SUNY receives $1,800.00.
8. Sheeba Oliver of Christhava Tamil Koil, Queens attending Pace University, Receives $1,500.00.
